Message It would not cause a huge catastrophe all at once. That's what our government wants you to believe so they can justify their law.

For a few years there, Montana repealed the speed limit. They did not have a catastrophe in their state. Safety groups claimed that the highway fatality rate would skyrocket, but in actuality it decreased during the years there was no speed limit.

And about the drinking age, that's what the US government claimed during prohibition. They were claiming that since mobsters were smuggling alcohol in and crime related to alcohol was on the rise during prohibition that if we ever got rid of prohibition it would be total mayhem. But it wasn't. Crime went down after prohibition was repealed because there was no longer any illegal market for alcohol.

Politicians want you to believe that if their policies are not enacted it would be a complete disaster. But that's not the case.
